D.A.R.E. (Smoking Cessation)

Programme Overview
D.A.R.E. is a 4-session programme designed to help youths quit their smoking habits. The participants get to learn about the hazards of smoking, understand the reasons that led to their smoking habits, and finally, how they can quit smoking. A subsequent follow-up plan further tracks the participants’ progress in quitting smoking after completion of the workshops.

Objectives
In line with CityCare’s ethos to educate, encourage and empower its volunteers and the community, D.A.R.E. is developed based these three key principles:

1. EDUCATE participants on the intrinsic and extrinsic benefits of not smoking;
2. ENCOURAGE participants with real-life success stories and peer support;
3. EMPOWER participants with practical skills to mitigate the need to smoke.
